改编自赛珍珠的普立兹奖小说，是好莱坞在三十年代开始注意东方题材的代表性作品。影片虽是描写中国农村夫妇的悲剧故事，但主角均由美国人扮演，导演悉尼．弗兰克林也采取西方古典电影的风格来处理，在制作上相当严谨认真。剧情描写保罗．茂尼与路易丝．莱娜本来是贫困的农民，面对饥荒的威胁甚至以烤土充饥。后来茂尼得到了一笔财富，竟整天花天酒地迷恋情妇，莱娜只有发挥贤妻的耐性期待丈夫浪子回头。今天看来类似故事已显得老套，但本片的拍摄与特技表现杰出，路易丝．莱娜亦获得奥斯卡最佳女主角奖。

这是一个发生在90年代大马天空下的初恋故事。botak（阿牛 饰）是憨厚老实的卖咖啡的儿子，喜欢上了青梅竹马的单亲家庭女孩“打架鱼”周安琪（李心洁 饰），却一直不敢表达。花痴女孩马丽冰（梁静茹 饰）一心喜欢botak，马丽冰的哥哥马麟帆（ 曹格 饰）却喜欢着打架鱼，botak的胖妹妹暗恋着“白马王子”（黄品冠 饰），.经过一系列的事件众小青年们都换来了人生的成长，看似搞笑的故事中夹杂了亲情、爱情、友情、乡愁。 《初恋红豆冰》是阿牛（陈庆祥）的处女作，参加演出的几乎都是来自马来西亚的本土歌手，本片上映时在马来西亚的票房大获350万，几乎刷新当地最高票房纪录。

The third and final part of this series of manga adaptations, by IFFR regular Miike Takashi, is once again loaded with delicious madness. Following Undercover Agent Reiji (IFFR 2014) and Hong Kong Capriccio (IFFR 2017), this time the enemy are Italian mafia smuggling their ‘speed-a-roni’ into Yokohama’s port. Yakuza boss Papilon, fearing for his business, wants to stop them from entering, and so do the Japanese cops: Reiji works for both as an undercover agent. All these complications this give cult director Miike a playground for crazed subplots. At times fooling us into thinking it’s an ordinary action thriller, The Mole Song: Final is a cocktail that smashes together slapstick comedy, farcical fantasy and puppet animation, with Reiji – played again by the energetic and engaging Ikuta Toma - always at the centre of the tornado that just keeps on spinning.
